COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NEW WEB SITE

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – February 15, 2011 – To better support the new philanthropic mission of the Collision Repair Education Foundation, the organization has launched a new web site: www.CollisionEducationFoundation.org. The new site allows for secondary and post-secondary collision students and their technical school and college instructors to quickly view the available scholarship and grant opportunities made possible by the Education Foundation and its donors.

The new web site also features the industry members that are donating to the Foundation and the specific support opportunities they are sponsoring for the future of the industry. Whether it is the donors who are members of the Foundation’s Industry Leadership Circle, those who have named scholarship or grant opportunities, Ultimate Collision Education Makeover school grant donors, and others, these are the businesses and companies who are taking an active part in transforming the educational opportunities for the future members of the industry. The Foundation is proud to highlight these supporters online.

For almost 20 years, the Collision Repair Education Foundation has supported career and technical school and college collision repair programs through curriculum development, sales and support, and philanthropic scholarships and grants. In 2008, the curriculum and training functions were transitioned from the Education Foundation to I-CAR, allowing the Foundation to be the philanthropic organization it is today in providing charitable support for students, instructors and schools. Since this transition, the Foundation has been able to provide over $3 million in support to this audience through the generosity of its supporters.

Collision Repair Education Foundation Executive Director Scott Kruger said, “The initial response from school instructors on the new web site has been great. We have heard that instructors can quickly access information about available scholarships and grants, download applications, and view what companies are supporting the future of the industry through their donations. This web site should be added to every collision student and instructor’s ‘Favorites’ tab as our supporters are making an incredible impact on educational opportunities for this group. All of this and more is highlighted on our new web site: CollisionEducationFoundation.org.”

Freedom High School Collision Instructor Jay Abitz said, “The new Collision Repair Education Foundation web site is a great tool for me as an educator. It is host to many useful links and bits of information for my students. I have already downloaded multiple scholarship forms and an application for the 2011 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover school grant. The new site has all the information I need to stay in touch with what the Education Foundation is doing in our industry.”
