HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – March 29, 2011 – SATA has donated over $10,000 (total) in equipment to five schools’ collision programs through the Collision Repair Education Foundation. The five schools applied for the Education Foundation’s 2010 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover school grant and specifically requested SATA equipment as part of their $50,000 grant wish list. Upon viewing the schools’ request lists, SATA not only decided to make the equipment donation but also upgraded the requested items to the latest models available. The 2010 Makeover applicant schools that benefited from this SATA equipment donation include:
Botetourt Technical Education Center (Fincastle, VA)
Golden Isles Career Academy (Brunswick, GA)
Kishwaukee College (Malta, IL)
Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School (Fitchburg, MA)
Sandhills Community College (Pinehurst, NC)
Knud Jorgensen, President of Dan-Am SATA said, “We here at Dan-Am SATA are pleased to partner with the Collision Repair Education Foundation to help support education within the collision industry. Our contribution of new spray equipment will provide students with the latest in technology to excel both in school and later on as they become professional technicians in the collision industry. We’re thrilled to be a component of tomorrow’s refinishing industry.”
Golden Isles Career Academy Collision Repair Instructor Roy McDowell said, “Without SATA’s generous donation we would not have been able to start spraying waterbased basecoat at our training facility. In the present economy, budget cuts have been deep and this donation is a huge help for us. I would like to thank SATA on behalf of my students.”
Kishwaukee College Collision Repair Instructor Greg Brink said, “I think it is great when companies step up and help schools. The spray guns that SATA donated will help us train our students with the best equipment available and this will help to provide a better trained entry-level technician.”
Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School Collision Repair Instructor Dana Lecuyer said, “Thank you to SATA and the Collision Repair Education Foundation for the spray gun donation. The students in our program are now able to use a high quality spray gun.”
Botetourt Technical Education Center Collision Repair Instructor Donnie Sale said, “This donation from SATA will give us the boost that we will need to take our refinishing to the next level. Thank you SATA so much, for taking such a big interest in my students who are trying to prepare for a highly technical job market.”
Sandhills Community College Auto Body Repair Professor/Coordinator Darwin Maness said, “On behalf of the Sandhills Community College Collision Repair & Refinish Technology program I would like to thank SATA for their generous donation of the 4000 B HVLP spray guns. SATA’s contribution will allow our students to work with the latest technology in spray equipment as each individual progresses towards his/her degree or diploma. Without generous donations like these from SATA, our Collision Repair & Refinish Technology program would not be able to operate at such a high level and consistently produce immediately employable graduates.”
Collision Repair Education Foundation Executive Director Scott Kruger said, “We would like to thank SATA for supporting these five schools through the equipment donation and the Foundation’s Ultimate Collision Education Makeover school grant program. It is through the support of companies such as SATA that the industry will be able to provide the future professionals of the industry with the best education possible and in turn have them be proficient and capable members of the industry from day one on the job. SATA’s donation helps put the latest in equipment and technology in the student’s hands.”
