INDUSTRY INVITED TO JOIN COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION FOR 2010 MAKEOVER WINNING SCHOOL RIBBON CUTTING • SUPPORTERS HELP TO PROVIDE UTAH SCHOOL WITH $100K+ IN DONATIONS

Hoffman Estates, IL – August 22, 2011 – Industry professionals are invited to join Bridgerland Applied Technology College in Logan, UT and the Collision Repair Education Foundation the morning of Friday, September 23rd for a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of the school winning the second annual Ultimate Collision Education Makeover $50,000 school grant in 2010. In the end, through the additional generosity of the collision industry, Bridgerland Applied Technology College ended up receiving over $100,000 in products, doubling the original budget of the grant.

On display during the event will be the tools, equipment, supplies, and other items that the school obtained through the grant. The event will include presentations from school administration and Collision Repair Education Foundation staff, meet and greet with students, tours of the facility, and a breakfast prepared by the school’s culinary department.

The Collision Repair Education Foundation would like to officially recognize the following industry companies who supported the 2010 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant program: Airgas; Alldata, LLC; Amerex Corporation; A.N. Designs (UltraWiz); Anest Iwata; ArcOne; Audatex, a Solera company; Auto Body Tool Mart; Automotive Recycler Association; AutoZone; ChemSpec USA; Chicago Pneumatic; Chief Automotive Technologies; Cintas; Craftsman; Dan-Am Company, SATA Spray Equipment; Elektron; Equalizer Industries; Ergodyne; E-Z Red; Fibre-Glass Evercoat; GEICO; Hobart Welding Products; Honeywell/Sperian Safety Products; I-CAR; LKQ Corporation; Mac Tools; Mechanix; Miller; Milwaukee; Mitchell; Motor Guard Corporation; Muscle Car Network of Central Florida; Panasonic; PPG; Rubber Seal; Rust Oleum; SAS Safety Corp; Sherwin Williams Automotive Refinishes; Steinel America; Sterling Auto Body Centers; and Valeo.

Collision Repair Education Foundation Executive Director Scott Kruger said, “We are proud that in the Makeover grant program’s first two years, we have awarded over $550,000 to 73 collision school programs through the generosity of our industry supporters. The Education Foundation invites any and all industry professionals to attend the ribbon cutting of our 2010 Makeover winner, Bridgerland Applied Technology College. The over $100,000 in donated tools, equipment, and supplies received by this school’s collision program is a testament to the industry supporting its future. On behalf of the Foundation’s employees, volunteers, and Board of Trustees, we thank the participating companies for making this possible for both Bridgerland and the other Makeover applicant schools.”

The goal of the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover program is to honor a school that has been doing an outstanding job in educating students in collision repair, but is in need of financial assistance to improve their program’s teaching materials and equipment. As the winning school in 2010, Bridgerland Applied Technology College was able to select $50,000 in supplies, tools, and equipment needed specifically for their collision program, thereby making a difference in the education of the students studying collision repair.

Those interested in attending the ribbon cutting ceremony are asked to RSVP by contacting Collision Repair Education Foundation Assistant Director of Grant Programs Melissa Marscin at Melissa.Marscin@ed-foundation.org.
