INDUSTRY HELPS RAISE $55,000 FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS DURING COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION’S ELEVENTH ANNUAL INDUSTRY FUNDRAISER CO-HOSTED BY PPG AUTOMOTIVE REFINISH

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – September 10, 2012 – The eleventh annual Collision Repair Education Foundation industry fundraiser, co-hosted by PPG Automotive Refinish, raised $55,000 through the support of the attendees and sponsors. Sponsors and participants enjoyed a day of golf at The Westin’s La Cantera – The Palmer Course – Golf Resort in San Antonio, TX on July 19, 2012 and the funds raised from this event will go towards supporting upcoming scholarships and grants for collision schools and students.

“Since 2009 when PPG Automotive Refinish came on board as the co-host sponsor of this industry fundraiser, over $160,000 in total has been raised for collision student scholarships and school grants. Each year the event gets better and better, and this is through the industry coming together to support a worthwhile cause,” said Clark Plucinski, Collision Repair Education Foundation Executive Director. “We thank our attendees, event sponsors and our co-host PPG Automotive Refinish. We look forward to seeing everyone again in Boston next July.”

“PPG is privileged to support the industry’s future through events of this kind,” said Domenic Brusco, PPG Automotive Refinish, senior manager, industry relations. “This is the third consecutive year we’ve co-hosted the Collision Repair Education Foundation’s industry fundraiser, and it’s rewarding to see more funds raised each year to assist collision students with their educational opportunities.
