LORD CORPORATION SUPPORTS COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION

(Cary, NC – Nov. 6, 2012) – LORD Corporation, maker of Fusor Automotive Repair Adhesives, the leading metal and plastic bonding solution for the automotive collision repair market, has announced a contribution to the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

Working to benefit collision schools, students and instructors, the Collision Repair Education Foundation is a traditional philanthropic organization, partnering with industry donors to fill the funding gap that hinders the collision industry.

“We are honored to support such a great cause that benefits industry schools, students and teachers,” said Brett Luketic, Director, Marketing and Sales for Automotive and Electronics. “The Foundation’s educational efforts help shape our future collision industry professionals and we are proud to be a part of this.”

LORD Corporation has made a $2,500 monetary donation, which sponsored the purchase of technician shirts for collision repair students, and nearly $30,000 in donated products and demonstration classes. The free products include LORD Fusor® 804 Seam Sealer, Fusor® 805 Wheel House Coating and Sound Deadener and Fusor® 312 Sprayable Seam Sealer and Dispenser Guns. The products will be distributed by the Foundation to eighteen secondary and post-secondary collision career and technical schools and colleges, instructors and/or students.

Fusor 804 seam sealer can be sprayed on any scuffed primed surface, including metal, SMC and Fiberglas®, to create flexible textured seams including floor pan seams, trunk pan seams, strut tower seams and exterior and truck box seams. LORD Fusor 805 wheel house coating and sound deadener can be sprayed on scuffed primed surfaces, including metal and SMC and Fiberglas®. Used to coat rear wheel houses, under floor panels and other automotive applications, it can also be used to duplicate OEM sound deadening material on interior surfaces of floor pans. Additionally, Fusor 805 can be used to replace OEM poly vinyl chloride (PVC) underbody coatings on Chrysler vehicles as stated in Collision Repair Bulletin 31-008-12, published Oct. 24, 2012. When used in conjunction with Fusor 312 sprayable seam sealer and coating dispenser gun, it matches all OEM seam sealers, textured coatings and sound deadening applications.

Collision Repair Education Foundation Executive Director Clark Plucinski noted, “LORD Corporation’s product donation helps provide collision instructors with the latest in collision repair supplies that their school’s budget may not allow them to gain access to, which are vital to assisting in the technical education of their collision students. I thank LORD for their continued support of the Collision Repair Education Foundation through both monetary and product donations and invite other industry companies to consider following LORD’s example in supporting future professionals of the collision industry.”
