ATLANTA I-CAR VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE AWARDS $9,000 STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP THROUGH THE COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION

Hoffman Estates, IL – May 16, 2013 – The Atlanta I-CAR Volunteer Committee awarded a $9,000 student scholarship to James Perez of Maxwell High School of Technology (Lawrenceville, GA) through the Collision Repair Education Foundation this spring. This scholarship will assist Perez with education costs to continue his technical education study of collision repair. Funding for this scholarship was made possible through the committee hosting annual golf and car show fundraiser events.

“We are very pleased that we could help another student in Atlanta join our industry,” says Gerry Poirier Chairman of the Atlanta I-CAR Volunteer Committee.

I-CAR Southeast Regional Manager German Meija noted, “The Atlanta I-CAR Volunteer Committee is a group of over 40 volunteers in various aspect of the collision industry. From shop managers, owners, insurance claims, and supply venders. I am very proud of our committee in Atlanta. They give so much because they truly care about collision repair.”

Collision Repair Education Foundation Director of Development Brandon Eckenrode noted, “I would like to congratulate the Atlanta I-CAR Volunteer Committee on their incredible job to come together as group and help raise funds and support for their local collision school programs and students. Through car shows, golf fundraisers, and other events, this local committee has been able to raise over $75,000 that goes toward supporting the technical education of their local collision students.”

Inter-industry organizations and individuals who are interested in supporting the Education Foundation and increasing the amount of assistance provided to collision schools and students should contact Education Foundation Director of Development Brandon Eckenrode at Brandon.Eckenrode@ed foundation.org or 847-463-5244.
