STATE FARM INSURANCE COMPANY CONTRIBUTES $70,000 TO COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF COLLISION STUDENTS’ EDUCATION • COMPANY SURPASSES $1 MILLION TOTAL LIFETIME GIVING TO EDUCATION FOUNDATION

Hoffman Estates, IL – September 10, 2013 – State Farm Insurance Company has displayed its commitment to the future of the collision industry by contributing $70,000 to the Collision Repair Education Foundation. After this donation, State Farm’s total, lifetime contributions to the Collision Repair Education Foundation have surpassed $1 million. Industry donations such as this assist the Education Foundation in its ability to support high school and technical college school programs, instructors, and students nationwide. By increasing educational opportunities for these students, the better prepared they will be to enter the industry as productive, efficient entry-level employees.

The $70,000 contribution from State Farm will support the Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign fund which allows the Foundation to provide its annual student scholarships, school grants, and the annual Ultimate Collision Education Makeover $50,000 school grant.

“State Farm’s support of collision repair education is consistent with our long-term commitment to education overall,” stated State Farm Claims Director Russ Hoffbauer. “Collision repair education is very important to State Farm and to our customers. As technology in the automotive industry changes rapidly, it is critical to have students entering the field and learning the latest repair methods to be able to provide remarkable service to our customers.”

Collision Repair Education Foundation Executive Director Clark Plucinski said, “On behalf of Collision Repair Education Foundation and the collision students and instructors we support, I would like to thank State Farm for their donation. The fact that they have surpassed $1 million throughout the Education Foundation’s lifetime, it shows a true testament to the company’s support of the collision industry’s future. It is only through industry supporters such as State Farm that the Education Foundation is able to assist so many of the future professionals of the collision industry.”

Companies and individuals interested in supporting high school and technical college collision school programs, instructors, and students should contact Collision Repair Education Foundation Director of Development Brandon Eckenrode at Brandon.Eckenrode@ed-foundation.org or 847.463.5244.
