COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION COLLABORATING WITH CONGRESSWOMAN DUCKWORTH TO CONNECT VETERANS WITH COLLISION INDUSTRY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES DURING UPCOMING CARS, CAREERS & CELEBRITIES EVENT

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – June 9, 2015 – The Collision Repair Education Foundation is working together with Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) on reaching out to military veterans who are interested in employment within the collision industry and inviting them to attend the Cars, Careers, & Celebrities event being held on Friday, September 18th at the Chicagoland Speedway (Joliet, Ill.), in conjunction with the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup taking place that weekend.

The event will bring together hundreds of high school and college collision students, veterans, industry employers, and sponsors. In addition to raising funds for the Collision Repair Education Foundation to invest in high school and college collision repair school programs, this event will include a traditional career fair where attendees will be able to distribute resumes to industry employers, view product demonstrations, hear from special guest speakers, and much more.

“The collision industry is a great place to build a career,” Duckworth said. “Veterans are employees who guarantee the quality of their work with their lives – and their dedication to their craft cannot be matched. I’m happy to support this event that brings good, quality jobs to some of our nation’s finest potential employees.”

Collision Repair Education Foundation Director of Development Brandon Eckenrode noted, “As an Iraq War Veteran and former Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs, we are honored to work with Congresswoman Duckworth and her office in providing information about this upcoming event and the opportunity it presents to connect veterans to collision industry employers. There are many different industry segments and career opportunities within the $30 billion collision industry and we look forward to help introduce both the attending students and veterans to our event participants.”

Those interested in participating in the 2015 Cars, Careers, & Celebrities event should contact Director of Development Brandon Eckenrode at Brandon.Eckenrode@ed-foundation.org/ 847-463-5244.
