ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR TO HOST COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION, I-CAR ST. LOUIS CAREER FAIR

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (March 16, 2016) – Top recruiters, executives and students from the collision repair and automotive industries will gather at Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s global headquarters in St. Louis for the Collision Repair Education Foundation and St. Louis I-CAR Committee’s Greater St. Louis Area Career Fair Apr. 28. Attending students will have the opportunity to network with industry employers, distribute resumes and, in some cases, land jobs on the spot.

“This event is a collaborative effort among our collision and automotive repair partners to connect well-trained students to challenging and rewarding careers,” said Dan Shymanski, St. Louis I-CAR Committee Chairman. “With a shortage of qualified candidates and employees in the collision repair industry, this career fair will help address a critical need for local employers.”

Due, in part, to a widening skills gap, collision repair careers are some of the best-paying jobs in the country. Post- Secondary graduates from the automotive field can expect a starting salary around $30,000, and can quickly grow depending on their experience and level of skill. High school graduates typically have a lower starting salary, however this depends on their experience and level of skill.

“The St. Louis I-CAR Committee has really taken the lead in organizing this event for the community,” said Brandon Eckenrode, director of development for the Collision Repair Education Foundation. “I would like to thank this group of volunteers for their commitment to making a positive impact on students’ future careers in the collision repair industry. I encourage any business seeking young and enthusiastic technicians to get involved in this event.”

The Collision Repair Education Foundation, founded by I-CAR in 1991, has been supporting the pre-employment segment of the collision industry for more than two decades. Together, the two organizations continue their partnership in supporting education for the entire industry.

The scholarships and grants distributed through the Collision Repair Education Foundation enhance the education experience for students by increasing their exposure to and understanding of new automotive technology and equipping them with the modern skills necessary to be successful collision industry members. Collision repair businesses are then able to hire these well-trained students as productive, efficient, and capable employees from day one on the job.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car has supported the work of I-CAR and the Collision Repair Education Foundation for years. In fact, Enterprise has a long history of supporting the needs of the collision repair industry.

One such example is Enterprise’s Automated Rental Management System® (ARMS), which tracks the length of time a replacement vehicle is rented to collision center customers and is considered a proxy for vehicle repair time. ARMS® data, which Enterprise shares with industry partners at no cost, helps collision repair centers increase operating efficiencies, enhance customer service and streamline communications with insurance companies and customers. Although ARMS® helps decrease the duration of rental periods, Enterprise has embraced the product as an opportunity to increase customer service and provide added value to its collision repair and insurance partners.
