COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 2011 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – May 10, 2010 – The Collision Repair Education Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the scholarships in collision repair that were created to assist deserving students pursuing a career in the collision industry. These awards are part of over $90,000 in scholarships to be given out in April 2011 by the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

The Collision Repair Education Foundation Scholarship is in its fourth year and funded by the entire collision industry through the Collision Repair Education Campaign. The Education Foundation Scholarship offers students financial assistance with tuition and other costs associated with their collision education.  The 2011 scholarship winners are:

GEICO PHILANTHROPIC AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP AND TOOL GRANTS TO FOUR AUTO BODY STUDENTS THROUGH COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – May 10, 2011– The Collision Repair Education Foundation and GEICO Philanthropic Foundation are proud to announce the winners of the GEICO Spring Scholarship and Tool Grant.  The GEICO Scholarship and Tool Grant Program provide each selected student with $1,000 in a scholarship and $500 in tools. The winning students are:

Nicholas Bigelow (Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES – Williamson, NY)

Kurt Bundscho (Sarasota County Technical Institute – Sarasota, FL)

Zachary Holler (Eastern Center for Arts and Technology – Willow Grove, PA)

ABRA AUTO BODY & GLASS AWARDS 16 STUDENTS WITH $1,000 TOOL GRANTS THIS SPRING THROUGH THE COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION

Hoffman Estates, IL– May 10, 2011 – ABRA Auto Body & Glass awarded 16 collision students each with $1,000 in tools through a spring tool grant opportunity with the Collision Repair Education Foundation. The tool grant was made available to select high school seniors or post-secondary student within collision repair programs that plan on graduating school in 2011 and entering the workforce immediately following graduation. The winning students were able to select $1,000 (retail value) in tools and equipment from the NATEF tool list.

CRAFTSMAN AWARDS 17 STUDENTS WITH TOOL GRANTS THROUGH THE COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION

Hoffman Estates, IL– May 10, 2011 – For the 2nd consecutive year, Craftsman has supported secondary and post-secondary auto body students by providing a student tool grant scholarship through the Collision Repair Education Foundation. Seventeen students were selected from nearly 300 applications and each wining student will receive a 268 pc. Mechanic Tool Set with Lift-Top Lid Case plus Microtork® Torque Wrench and 10-Drawer Ball-Bearing Tool Chest.

The student winners of the 2011 spring Craftsman tool grant include:

Claudia Linda Carr (Texas State Technical College – Harlingen, TX)

Candice Mae Churchill (Walla Walla Community College – Walla Walla, WA)

COLLISION REVISION DONATES $20,000 IN EQUIPMENT TO CHICAGO LAND SCHOOL THROUGH COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – March 17, 2011 – Wilco Area Career Center in Romeoville, IL received $20,000 in equipment donations from Collision Revision Auto Body Repair through the Collision Repair Education Foundation. The school received a frame pulling post, spot welders, plasma cutters, masking machine, bed lifter, shredder vacuum, floor scrubber, four parts carts, alignment machine, and five parts stands. Collision Revision contacted the Collision Repair Education Foundation regarding the slightly used equipment that they had available and wanted to place into a local school and Wilco Area Career Center Collision Instructor Art Coon was able to utilize the equipment for his school’s program. COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION’S ANNUAL SUMMER GOLF FUNDRAISER SELLS OUT FOUR MONTHS EARLY

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – March 14, 2011 – Through the incredible support of the event’s sponsors and registered attendees, the Collision Repair Education Foundation’s 10th annual summer golf fundraiser has sold out four months prior to the Thursday, July 21st tee-time. The round of golf and networking reception will bring together 144 industry members from around the country to the Stonebridge Golf Club in Salt Lake City. Funds raised through the event assist the Foundation with providing secondary and post-secondary collision student scholarships and the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover $50,000 school grant opportunity.
