HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL- November 15, 2010 – The Collision Repair Education Foundation (formerly the I-CAR Education Foundation) has provided 2,000 Cintas technician shirts to automotive collision students nationwide this fall through the support of Audatex, a Solera company; AutoZone; Chicago Pneumatic; Craftsman; I-CAR; and PPG Automotive Refinish. In addition to providing uniforms to collision students, the project helped raise $20,000 for the Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign fund that helps provide student scholarships, school grants, and the Foundation’s Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant. In addition to providing a significant discount on the technician shirts and sponsor patches, Cintas Corporation donated the shipping costs of the 2,000 completed technician shirts. BRIDGERLAND APPLIED TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE’S COLLISION PROGRAM TO RECEIVE $50,000 MAKEOVER THROUGH THE COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION
Hoffman Estates, IL- November 11, 2010 – Bridgerland Applied Technology College of Logan, Utah was selected from over fifty school applications and is the recipient of the 2010 Collision Repair Education Foundation’s (formerly the I-CAR Education Foundation) Ultimate Collision Education Makeover $50,000 school grant. This is the second annual Makeover school grant provided by the Education Foundation. Bridgerland’s application displayed a strongly supported collision program through Instructor and Department Head Kevin Cornia; Associate Vice President John Davidson; as well as local industry members that serve on the school’s advisory committee. The Education Foundation will begin working together with industry supporters to help fulfill the college’s $50,000 wish list for their collision program, which will benefit not only current but also future collision students. EVERCOAT DONATES $14,000 IN PRODUCT TO 48 COLLISION SCHOOLS THROUGH I-CAR® COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL- November 8, 2010- Evercoat has donated over 600 cartridges of its 2K flexible foam to 48 collision programs (secondary and post-secondary) across the country through the Collision Repair Education Foundation. The donation from Evercoat will aid these schools in the instruction of their students by providing them with up-to-date, current supplies. The total monetary amount of this donation equals roughly $14,000, and through this donation, Evercoat is recognized as part of the Foundation’s Industry Leadership Circle. HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL- October 21, 2010- For the second year, Bar’s Products has donated their Bar’s Leaks and Rislone products to 250 collision schools through the I-CAR Collision Repair Education Foundation. Collision school instructors responded to a survey asking them what Bar’s Products they would be able to best utilize within their automotive program and Bar’s Products agreed to ship a case of the requested product to each school. I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE TO COLLISION REPAIR EDUCATION FOUNDATION
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL- October 7, 2010- The I-CAR Education Foundation is announcing that beginning at NACE 2010 it will change its name to the Collision Repair Education Foundation. For almost 20 years, the Collision Repair Education Foundation has supported career and technical school and college collision repair programs through curriculum development, sales, and support and philanthropic scholarships and grants. In 2008, the Education Foundation moved the curriculum and training functions to I-CAR and focused its mission entirely on charitable support for schools and instructors. Last year, the organization provided over $1.6 million in grants to education programs nationwide. Survey participants to receive unlimited RepairCenter™ software
San Diego, CA – October 06, 2010 – Mitchell International and The I-CAR Collision Repair Education Foundation today announced a new partnership aimed at helping the next generation of collision repair professionals. Mitchell is making an unlimited donation of its RepairCenter™ Estimating and TechAdvisor OEM repair procedure software in support of the Education Foundation’s new Collision Repair School Solutions survey program. All secondary and post-secondary technical schools and colleges that offer a collision repair program are invited to complete the survey, and in return they will receive Mitchell RepairCenter software for use in their classrooms.
